This master bedroom was designed to be sophisticated, contemporary, and restful. My client asked for a neutral palette with pops of vivid color.

The headboard, which was custom-made by a local artisan, features deep diamond button tufting and silver nailhead trim. A bold Turkish rug anchors the bed, and a polished nickel chandelier provides ample lighting. The cornflower blue and putty palette were pulled directly from the accent colors in the rug.

My clients needed a workspace that could be put away at the end of the day, so I customized a secretary desk and hutch with a fresh coat of paint and geometric hardware. An antique bergère chair provides a comfortable place to lounge and read. I updated my clients’ old Ikea Malm dresser with panel molding and brushed nickel drawer pulls. A landscape mirror over the dresser reflects the light from the window and helps brighten the space.
